Why We Started SouthPaw Pet Supply
Meet Bob and Kota
SouthPaw Pet Supply was created in 2009. Bob Malecki took over the company in 2020 with the intention and long-term goal of creating a company worthy of all that’s described above.
As a pet owner himself, he understands the deep connection we share with our furry friends and the profound impact they have on our lives. Bob wanted to create a space where pet owners could find everything, they need to provide the best possible care for their pets.
Not only that, but he’s never lived a day without a beloved four-legged kiddo by his side. Bob handles all day to day operations of SouthPaw Pet Supply and is the driving force behind the company. He is extremely passionate about our mission and his love for his pets over the years has been a source of huge source of inspiration; as well as his fun-loving, incredibly vivacious and not to mention super tenacious, Golden Retriever, Kota.
Keeping up with Kota and all of his energy is no small task. Bob noticed that there was a need for a trusted source of high-quality pet products that not only meet the practical needs of pets but also align with our values of compassion, trust, responsibility, and enhancing the pet/owner experience and connection. That’s how the Ultimate Comfort Bungee Leash was created. With Kota’s rambunctious spirit, Bob’s lovely wife, Suzanne could hardly handle walking Kota. Bob wanted to offer an improved product that helped make walking time more enjoyable to handle a large energetic dog with added features to provide comfort, security and safety for the dog and their person who loves them.
Meet Kristi and Sunshine
Kristi joined Bob at SouthPaw Pet Supply in April of 2023 as the Director of Sales and Marketing. What you don’t know is that Kristi is a self-proclaimed “failed foster”. Kristi’s biggest challenge in life is that she hasn’t met a dog she didn’t love. Not pictured are her other 4 little dogs Lola, Fluffy, Cinco and Emmie.
With her love for her furbabies and her passion for marketing, joining SouthPaw Pet Supply to help take the company to the next level happened in a natural and organic way.
Bob and Kristi together as partners are the magic secret sauce behind the company that makes up the perfect complement that will communicate our brand voice and while fulfilling our mission to be on an endless quest to create and curate the best possible products for your pets. The time is now to communicate that our brand has been transformed out of our genuine love and passion for animals.
